Needham High School Class of 1964

David Tabor
1946 - 2024

It is with deep sadness to announce the peaceful passing at home of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend: David on Wednesday, August 21,2024.
Born on October 19,1946 in Needham, he was the son of the late Arnold Lesley and Thelma Cleveland (Silsby) Tabor.

After graduating from Needham High School, he joined the Navy and served from 1965-1969 as a parachute rigger, part of a close-knit jet squadron. While in the service, he earned the National Defense Service medal. After the Navy, he went to work for Polaroid and then Symmons.

Along with his endearing wife of 52 years Anne (Fornaro), they made their home in Westwood, then Medfield with their three children: David (Kellie) of Florida, Jen (Shaun) of Medway, and Dan (partner SY) of Duxbury, and six grandchildren who lovingly called him Bumpa: Hunter, Colin, Landon, Lyla, Brae, and Ellie.

He was an avid, and sometimes vocal, fan of all their sports endeavors. A handy man at heart, he enjoyed DIY home and furniture projects; most hold wonderful stories and are cherished pieces loved by family. He also had interests in camping where he was crowned the tarp king, sailing with his mates, dabbling in puzzles, trips that included lighthouse adventures and climbing to the top, and a constant and devoted Kraft blood donor.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him and we are ever so grateful that he leaves cancer behind. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice or Dana Farber (his care team was top notch!). A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
