Frank Joseph Sorrentino of Needham, passed away on
Friday, September 6th at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham,
surrounded by his wonderful family. He was 74 years old.
Born in
Needham, he was one of five children born to the late Joseph R. and Mary
A. (Coletti) Sorrentino. Raised and educated in Needham, Frank was a
graduate of Needham High School, Class of 1964. Following high school, he
furthered his education at Northeastern University.
Frank married
the love of his life, Linda DeBenedictis, in 1972 and had 2 children,
Joseph and Maria.
He worked at Polaroid Corporation for many years
as an Instrumentation Technician Specialist Engineer. Frank was a
hardworking, upstanding man. His legacy is work to the best of your
ability and “Never Give Up.”
Travelling to Disneyworld, California,
Aruba and Las Vegas with family were trips everyone enjoyed. Also,
visiting Italy, the place of his parent’s birth and exploring his heritage
and culture, gave him great pride.
Frank built a beautiful home on
Cape Cod, where many friends and relatives visited. Back at home, he
enjoyed many parties that his wife Linda hosted and honoring various
people in the town of Needham for their wonderful contributions.
Frank is lovingly survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Linda M.
DeBenedicits Sorrentino and their children; Joseph P. “Joey” Sorrentino
and his wife Sara of Needham and Maria A. Montanez and her husband Greg of
Foxboro. He was the loving grandfather of Tina Marie and Alyssa Rose
Montanez. Brother of Jeanette Anesse and her late husband Anthony, Louise
Sharpe and her husband Richard, Sandra Girard and her late husband Richard
and brother in law of Janet DeBenedictis, Kenneth DeBenedictis and his
wife Susan. Frank was the uncle of Kenny William, Thomas and Andrew.
Visitation will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave,
Needham, on Monday morning, September 16th from 9:45 to 11:15 am, followed
by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 1362 Highland Ave,
Needham, at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may
be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA
22215.
