Grace H. (Holden) Alpert, 77, longtime Auburn resident, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Saint Vincent Hospital.
She leaves her beloved husband of 56 years, Stephen R. Alpert; their devoted sons, Michael C. Alpert and his wife Lisa, of Johnston, RI, and Jason E. Alpert and his wife Andrea, of Wareham, MA; three adoring grandchildren, Josh, Emma, and Bob Alpert; her sister Miriam H. Sleighter, of South Yarmouth; and a niece, Micaela Alpert, of Summit, NJ. Grace was predeceased by her sister, Clarice H. Leighton; and their parents, Clayton L. Holden and Miriam J. (Grevatt).

Grace was born in Newton, MA to the late Clayton L. Holden and Miriam J. (Grevatt). She graduated from Needham High School in 1964, and soon after, attended a two-year program at Chandler School for Women, graduating as a Scientific Research Secretary.

She and Steve lived in Pennsylvania for about four years, and while there, Grace worked for NCR Corp. in Bethlehem. Most recently, she worked as Secretary/Administrative Assistant for Epworth United Methodist Church in Worcester for more than 25 years.

Grace, in her free time, enjoyed quilting, reading (mostly fiction, especially 'cozy' mysteries), church activities, including choir, and spending time at the Auburn Senior Center.
She was known for being pleasant and outgoing, and had a number of close friends.

Calling hours will be held from 12 – 2 PM on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn, with a funeral service to follow at 3 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church, 64 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
