Nancy Jean Madigan
March 6, 1946 - January 15, 2022

Nancy, age 75, passed away after battling several major illnesses, just as she wanted, in her own home, on good meds, with her daughter Kathy and son Billy by her side.  In addition to her children, Nancy is survived by her three granddaughters, Morgan, Kiley, and Emma to whom she was known as "Gram."

Nancy graduated from Needham High School in 1964 where she was known as "Cookie" and was the first woman to compete in gymnastics for NHS.  She then completed a year of secretarial studies at Chandler School for Women in Boston.  She was employed as an executive assistant for many years and then worked as a nanny and caregiver. 

Nancy was a beloved checkout clerk at Shaw's supermarket -- always with a quick smile and engaging personality.  She loved a good dirty joke, a vodka soda, cooking meals to feed an army, gardening, Springtime, they ocean, nature, and animals of all kinds.  She was a spitfire, a fighter, and a very private person; she did not want a memorial service or fanfare, just a small celebration of life with her kids and grandkids.

Instead of flowers or bereavement gifts, Nancy would prefer that you honor her memory by:  bucking the rules a little bit; performing a random act of kindness; or giving to an animal sanctuary of your choice (suggestion: Ima Survivor Donkey & Animal Farm Sanctuary - www.imasurvivorsanctuary.com).  Donations may also be made i her name to www.vnacare.org/doners.

Nancy would want you all to know that she's pissed she didn't make it till Spring.
