Sara E. “Sally” (Goodall) Mac Duff of Needham died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Boston on Tuesday July 14, 2009. She was 62 years old. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Russell P. and Lillian (Littlefield) Goodall. Sally was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1964 and Lasell College in Newton Class of 1966. Mrs. Mac Duff worked for many years for several prominent orthopedic surgeons both at Children’s Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital, both in Boston. She also worked for several years as a secretary for her husband’s architectural firm. Sally enjoyed playing the piano, embroidery, knitting and reading. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Needham since 1961 and was a former member of the Church’s Friendly Society. Mrs. Mac Duff volunteered for several years with the Needham Girls Scouts. The beloved wife of Douglas G. Mac Duff, she was the loving mother of Alyson H. Fortune and her husband Mark of Littleton and the dear grandmother of Nathaniel Isaac Fortune. A Memorial Service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Tuesday July 21 at 11AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Sara’s name may be made to the National Adrenal Diseases Foundation, 505 Northern Boulevard, Great Neck NY 11021 or to The Home for Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Ave, Boston MA 02115.
